Owing to its commitment to being “relationally driven” City Church offers opportunities for life-giving fellowship in celebration and in consolation. As such we will be hosting two important support groups that address specific kinds of brokenness and challenges.
Our 13 week cycle of GriefShare begins on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 6:00-7:30pm. Please enter through the front doors of the church, we will be meeting in the main sanctuary. You will receive your GriefShare workbook the night of the first meeting.
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ (Galatians 6.4, NLT).
No one, when they experienced the rush and anticipation of lifelong marriage, planned for the hurt of separation and divorce but this painful reality is far too common in our world and in the church.
The 13 support group sessions offer a way to navigate these uncertain waters through insights shared from therapists and those who have experienced separation and divorce. As a group we will engage the video presentations and the accompanying workbook as well as powerful, confidential interaction.
If you or someone you know could use this kind of support, consider joining us for what could be a transformative, healing 13 weeks.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has chosen me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed (Luke 4.18, GNT).
Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed (James 5.16, The Message).
According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), 19.7 million American adults (aged 12 and older) battled a substance use disorder in 2017.
Those statistics are overwhelming and strongly suggest that those living with substance use disorders are in proximity and therefore the mandate for the church to be Christ to this population is justified. We needn’t wrestle with the fact that embedded in Jesus’s statement for why He came to this world was to “set captives free” from substance use disorders and all other ways people are held captive.
We are pleased to offer a program whose purpose it is to offer help, support, and healing. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind. Here, individuals will find a safe place to find community and freedom from the issues that are controlling our life.
