Our Story
City Church was founded in 1935 when a small group of families gathered in homes, united in prayer and seeking guidance to establish a Spirit-led church in Charlottesville. What began as a simple act of faith by a few has blossomed into a vibrant and diverse community of disciples of Jesus.
Ninety years later, we remain committed to calling people to Follow Jesus, Grow Together, and Serve Others.
What We Believe
City Church is Biblically Based, Relationally Driven and Spirit-Led – calling others to Follow, Jesus, Grow Together and Serve Others. We desire to see God’s Kingdom come and His will be done in Charlottesville, in the surrounding counties, and around the world.
