PHYSICAL HEALINGS

 

CONTEXT:  The parable of the sower

 

3 Types of Soil

  1. Rocky: word with Joy  no root – testing fall away
  2. Seed among the thorns – choked by life’s pleasures, worries and riches
  3. Soil = “a good and noble heart” and it produces a crop

 

Ch: 8 = examples…

 

Jairius = a ruler in the synagogue    His name.

A women who has been sick for 12 years…   She = her problem

 

Luke 8: 41 Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet.

“LIVE” REAL examples of “Prayer”

 

Bring their needs to Jesus! They ask him!

Hebrews 7:25 Therefore he is able to save completely (forever) those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

John 14:13-14 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

She was “unclean” – her type of illness

She was also poor.

He was wealthy –  Jewish Leader

 

 

SLIDE:  Luke 8:48 Then Jesus said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed (SAVED) you.

 

Unclean = trembling   Lev. 15:25-27

 

One problem leads to another…

Prolonged illness = poverty

physical, financial, spiritual, relational, emotional!

 

Jesus calls her “DAUGHTER”!

 

“Made you well”   “Healed” –  “saved”  SOZO

SAVED!

 

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Acts 16:31

And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Mark 16:16

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Romans 10:9-10

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Luke 8:46 Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”

 

Not selfies:  Not high fives…  I saw him!!

 

She “touched” him.

She had tried other stuff!

 

Physical, emotional, relational, financial, spiritual

 

You know… it has “grown”

 

ALL “prayer” w/ Jesus = action!
