SLIDE: Growth on Purpose  (what are you thinking?)

SLIDE: Psalm 3  (LARGE SCREENS)

A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.

Lord, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!
Many are saying of me,
“God will not deliver him.”

But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
I call out to the Lord,
and he answers me from his holy mountain.

I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.
I will not fear though tens of thousands
assail me on every side.

Arise, Lord!
Deliver me, my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.

From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.

SLIDE: 2 Cor. 10:3-5 – Apostle Paul (LARGE SCREENS)

:3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

SLIDE: For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 2Cor. 10:3

Paul to Timothy

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7

Biblical example:

Timothy’s struggle!  TOO YOUNG!

What is being said!

SLIDE: Timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight…   1Timothy 1:18

SLIDE: Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 1Timothy 4:12

SLIDE: Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic messagewhen the body of elderslaid their hands on you. 1Timothy 4:14

SLIDE:  For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.  For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.  2 Timothy 1:6-7
